Celebrating Black History Month 2022
“I am celebrating Black History Month in 2022 by centering Black joy, Black love, and Black resistance.
I am reading Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi.
I am leaning on the knowledge and wisdom of the Black community at St. John’s Law, like Cheryl Wade, Renee Allen, and Vernadette Horne.
I am inspired by Black St. John’s Law alumni, like Chanel Smith, who model how to fearlessly advocate for the Black community.
I am creating and taking more space for myself.
I am being intentional about offering my time, gifts, and talents only in ways that further the cause of liberation.”
