Celebrating Black History Month 2022

Celebrating+Black+History+Month+2022

“This month is a celebration of progress made by good people despite the forces that were against them. The circumstances that create an environment that allows your progress to be measured by how much you can accomplish while being pressed down upon isn’t something to celebrate—it’s something to critique. Every Black History Month I ask myself, why did there need to be a Civil Rights Act of 1964 in the first place? Or a Black Lives Matter Movement? The answer I come to—America is still trying to convince herself; my Black body is in fact a human one.”
