New York State’s Chief Judge, Janet DiFiore ’81, ‘17HON has appointed Hon. Randall T. Eng to the state’s Commission on Prosecutorial Conduct, an independent entity dedicated to strengthening oversight of New York’s prosecutors and holding them to the highest ethical standards in the exercise of their duties.

Hon. Steven Tekulsky has been re-elected to a third four-year term as an East Hampton Town Justice. He also serves as the Associate Justice in the Sag Harbor Village Court.

, an adjunct professor at St. John’s, penned several articles recently. “‘Goldman Sachs’, Part I: The Supreme Court, Aspirational Statements and Inflation-Maintenance” and ‘Goldman Sachs’, Part II: Aspirational Statements, Inflation-Maintenance and the SDNY on Remand” appear in the New York Law Journal. The ABA published “Top 10 Rules for Arbitration Chairs.” And Sabino wrote “Federal Eminent Domain Power Prevails Over State Sovereign Immunity in Newest Supreme Court Case” for Climate and Energy.

Hon. Jerry Iannece was the honoree at the 72nd Annual Columbian Lawyers of Queens County Christmas luncheon.

On January 1, 2022, David C. Banks started his tenure as Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education, the largest public school system in the nation.

Gerard R. Luckman, a partner and chair of the Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring practice group at Forchelli Deegan Terrana, was elected president of the Turnaround Management Association’s Long Island Chapter. He is also a member of the Chapter’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Nicholette Sinatra is a VP of Business Development at First Nationwide Title as well as an adjunct instructor at New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate.

Brian Whiteman has joined Lewis Brisbois as a partner and a member of the firm’s Professional Liability Practice.

Ambrose partner Kevin Fogarty is the recipient of the Former Administrative Assistant of the Year Award. Presented by the New York State Society and current and former chiefs of staff of the New York Congressional Delegation, the award recognizes a past chief of staff’s lengthy service of distinction to New York State and the nation.

Thomas Ridges serves on the legal committee of New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ transition team. He was featured in the Staten Island Advance article, “Impact & Excellence: Trailblazing prosecutor reflects on his ascension to Staten Island leadership” and had the opportunity to meet President Biden when he visited New York to discuss gun violence.

Sal Tamburo has joined DLA Piper as of counsel in the firm’s Washington, DC patent litigation practice.

Leigh Pisane Cortez has joined Dechert LLP as an associate in the firm’s global finance practice.

Stephanie M. Alberts, a partner at Forchelli Deegan Terrana, has been appointed co-chair of the firm’s tax, trusts & estates  practice group.

Annmarie Giblin has joined Hinshaw & Culbertson as a partner in the firm’s global insurance services practice group. With an extensive background in cybersecurity and data privacy law and litigation matters, Giblin will help lead the firm’s data security and privacy practice and is spearheading the launch of the firm’s Proactive Cyber Defense practice.

Tony Kullen has joined Farleigh Wada Witt in Portland, Oregon, as of counsel. He focuses his practice on the life cycle of lending transactions, from loan origination through final collection. He also serves on the executive committee of the Oregon State Bar Debtor-Creditor Section, chairs its Legislative Committee, and is an active member of the Credit Union National Association and the Oregon Bankers Association.

Paul Tramantano has joined Litchfield Cavo, where he concentrates his practice on insurance defense litigation.

Anupama Yerramalli has been named a partner in Latham & Watkins’ restructuring & special situations practice.

He is a Construction Health and Safety Technician and is an advisor to construction contractors, large subcontractors, developers, premises owners, and other clients across the country operating in construction, manufacturing, and other industries.

Jeffrey Chery has been elected a partner at Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman, where he focuses his practice on trademark matters.

Murtha Cullina has promoted Jonathan M. Horne to partner. He is a member of the firm’s litigation department and bankruptcy and creditors’ rights group.

Douglas L. Tang has been named a partner at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler. Practicing in the firm’s employment benefits and executive compensation practice group, he focuses on a wide variety of employee benefits, employment, and executive compensation matters.

Philip A. Butler has been promoted to counsel at Farrell Fritz, where he works in the firm’s land use & municipal department.

Preston C. Demouchet, has been promoted to partner at Carter Ledyard & Milburn. As a member of the Trusts & Estates Department, he focuses his practice on tax, estate planning, and the administration of estates and trusts.
