“As we celebrate the contributions and progress women made in our country, we must also reflect on the unequal burdens women still face. According to the 2020 data by the National Women’s Law Center, women are paid 82 cents for every dollar men make. The gap further widens for women of color. In 1963, women earned 59 cents to men’s dollar. The Equal Pay Act of 1963 narrowed the wage gap, but remains significant. We must continue to raise and amplify women’s voices to close that gap and ensure a brighter future for our daughters.”
