Professor Jeremy Sheff and Professor Eva Subotnik, who are the Faculty Directors of the St. John’s Intellectual Property Law Center (IPLC), presented their papers on January 12th at the Fourteenth Annual NYU Tri-State Region IP Workshop.
Professor Sheff presented his paper, Dividing Trademark Use. The chief commentator on his paper was Megan Bannigan, a partner at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.
Professor Subotnik presented her paper, What the Warhol Court Got Wrong: Use as an Artist Reference and the Derivative Work Doctrine, 47 Colum. J.L. & Arts (forthcoming 2024), co-authored with Professor Jessica Silbey of BU Law School. The chief commentator on their paper was Professor Chris Sprigman of NYU School of Law.
