On April 3rd-4th, the Institute for Innovation in Prosecution at John Jay College of Criminal Justice hosted a convening entitled “Pursuing Justice for Immigrants.” At the convening, Professor Abel Rodríguez co-presented with Professor Talia Peleg on the intersection of criminal and immigration law, or “crimmigration.”
The session explored the ways in which the criminal legal system can improve its treatment of and minimize immigration consequences for noncitizens. The audience largely consisted of elected district attorneys from around the country and their staff.
