On May 22nd, at the Association of Legal Writing Directors Scholars Forum, outgoing Professor Anjali Pathmanathan and incoming Professor Louis Jim (who recently joined the St. John’s Law Faculty) presented their developing scholarly papers.

Professor Pathmanathan presented her paper with the working title of, “I Respectfully Dissent.” Professor Jim presented his developing paper, “Legal Othering: Asian Americans as Perpetual Outsiders.” Professor Robin Boyle served on the Forum’s planning committee and participated in the workshop’s critiquing sessions.

Following the Forum, on May 23rd, at the Empire State Legal Writing Conference at Fordham Law School, Vice Dean Rachel Smith presented on the panel, “AI in the Classroom.” Professor Boyle presented at her workshop, “Designing Classroom Exercises for Experiential Engagement.”
