Professor Robin Boyle has signed a publishing agreement with Bloomsbury Publishing for a parenting guide, Taken No More: Protecting Your Children Against Traffickers and Cults. The book aims to inform readers on the operations, tactics, and strategies of criminal individuals and enterprises that exploit children, tweens, teenagers, and young adults for economic gain. Additionally, this book will serve as a professional resource for law enforcement, educators, mental health professionals, lawyers, and doctors. Since 1998, Professor Boyle has published six articles in peer-reviewed journals and law school periodicals relating to this topic. She was a contributing author to the book, Human Trafficking: Emerging Legal Issues and Applications (2017), co-edited by Nora M. Cronin, ’06.
Professor Boyle is a member of the board of directors for the International Cultic Studies Association (“ICSA”). On July 4th, she will be presenting on her book topic at ICSA’s annual conference in Barcelona, Spain. She has previously presented on topics relating to cults and human trafficking at domestic and international conferences held in Beijing, China (paper read); Bordeaux, France; Los Angeles, CA; Manchester, England; Montreal, Canada (two conferences, in-person and virtual); Newark, NJ; Featured Luncheon Speaker, Philadelphia, PA (two conferences); Keynote Speaker, Shanxi University, China (virtual); and locally on Long Island before assemblies of school children, nonprofit organizations, and faith-based forums.
Professor Boyle sees the need for a comprehensive, accessible book on human trafficking and cults that is appropriate for a wide audience. It is anticipated that Taken No More will be released in 2025. She is highly grateful for the literary agency of Crichton & Associates and for the publisher’s book editor, Christen Karniski, to have taken on this project.
