On Friday, September 13th, the St. John’s Law Faculty hosted its annual Faculty Scholarship Retreat. The Retreat, which typically occurs in September following the busy summer research and writing season, is part of the Law School’s rich tradition of supporting the scholarly endeavors of all of its faculty members, no matter the topic, stage of completion, or type of project.
Beginning with a lightning round presentation of each faculty member’s current research focus, the Retreat then turned to 5 different papers by the following faculty members:
- Professor Noa Ben-Asher, who presented Chapter 2 from their book, Secular-Christian Social Justice (forthcoming NYU Press 2025).
- Professor Cheryl Wade, who presented the Prologue and Introduction from her forthcoming book, The Future of African America: Wealth, Class, Vulnerability and a Family Story.
- Professor Ray Warner, who presented his forthcoming article “Sustainable Bankruptcy.”
- Professor Robin Boyle, who presented Chapter 8 from her book, Taken No More: Protecting Your Children Against Traffickers and Cults (forthcoming Bloomsbury 2025).
- Professor Jeremy Sheff, who presented his article “An Empirical Evaluation of the Trademark Modernization Act” (forthcoming Houston Law Review 2024).
Dean Trent Anderson, Professor Courtney Selby, and Professor Eva Subotnik also discussed ways in which the Law School can help support and promote the faculty’s scholarly achievements.
