On November 21st, the AALS Student Services section digitally released the fourth volume of its Insights from the Field publication. This edition features articles describing approaches to satisfying ABA Standard 303, particularly with regard to professional identity development.
Included was Associate Dean for Student Services and Adjunct Professor Eric W. Shannon’s piece, Outside the Margins: Journal Alternatives for Professional Skill and Identity Development. In it, he describes ways to support all law students—including those who do not formally participate in a law review or journal—in developing the core skills that journal membership most readily provides.
Other featured writers include Dr. Traci Cipriano of the Yale School of Medicine; Odetta Clarke, Associate Director of Academic Achievement at Miami Law; and Joseph Oteng, Dean’s Fellow for Inclusive Excellence at The Ohio State Moritz College of Law.
