Professors Robin Boyle-Laisure and Colleen Parker presented at a Continuing Legal Education program before the Nassau County Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Committee on Friday, March 28th. Their topic was “The Art and Craft of Persuasive Writing.”
Professor Boyle addressed various persuasive techniques. She showed how the classical Greek concepts of logos, ethos, and pathos are still alive and effective today, evidenced by poignant passages in recently filed noteworthy briefs.
Professor Parker engaged the audience by demonstrating effective uses of artificial intelligence in persuasive writing and law practice.
Both professors addressed the intersection of ethics and advocacy.
