Professor Robin Boyle-Laisure’s article, Education Theory Integrated in Business Law, has been accepted for publication by the Journal of Legal Studies Education, a peer-reviewed journal.
In the article, Professor Boyle describes three pedagogical tools that professors can utilize—scaffolding, interleaving, and schema-building. Based upon neuroscience and education theory, the use of these techniques will assist students in transferring newly acquired knowledge from short-term to long-term memory. She provides detailed exercises that integrate these theoretical concepts with a scaffolded lesson on contract negotiations and another on teaching the doctrine of misrepresentation. The article will be published in the Winter 2026 issue.
Separately, Professor Boyle’s second edition of Becoming a Legal Writer: A Workbook with Explanations to Develop Objective Legal Analysis and Writing Skills (Carolina Academic Press) has now been published.
