Professor Robin Boyle-Laisure was selected as a participant in the second annual Feminist Legal Studies Roundtable, to be held on June 15, 2026, at Pace University. She will discuss her developing paper on (i) clarifying the definition of “coercive control” as a useful model for the courts and legislative bodies, and (ii) how coercive control, and the recognized crime of human trafficking, is a feminist issue.
Additionally, Professor Boyle-Laisure will address topics related to human trafficking, cults, and toxic relationships before an audience of high school students at the Garden City High School on April 30, 2026.
On Saturday, May 2, 2026, she will be speaking at an author event at The Eloquent Page bookstore in St. Albans, Vermont. The event will feature a conversation between Professor Boyle-Laisure and cult survivor and author, Tamara Mathieu. They will be discussing their books: Taken No More: Protect Your Children Against Traffickers and Cults (Bloomsbury 2005), and All Who Believed: A Memoir of Life in the Twelve Tribes (Rootstock Publishing 2024), respectively.
