Professor Taifha Natalee Alexander presented her article, Systemic Racism as Negligence (forthcoming Harvard Civil Rights – Civil Liberties Law Review), at the Private Law and Multicultural Identities Workshop in Arona, Italy.
Professor Taifha also led the endowed Irving L. Goldberg Panel, “Systemic Racism as Negligence—Private Law as Structural Accountability,” alongside UCLA School of Law Faculty and alumni Alanna C. Kane, Brenda Suttonwills, and Sandy Hudson. The panel explored tort law as an underutilized pathway for addressing systemic racial and social harms, including how one federal court has allowed a systemic racism-as-negligence claim to proceed on procedural merits.
